Suicide Prevention Fundraiser

Join us on October 19th at Woburn Memorial High School Fields for our inaugural Kick It 2019: A Kickball Tournament to help raise awareness for Suicide Prevention. All net proceeds will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Kickball Rules

Please Read The Rules

RULE 1

8 players maximum on the field per team at all times.

RULE 2

No Bunting!

RULE 3

No Cleats!

RULE 4

No stealing is allowed.

RULE 5

3 Innings per match, 3 outs per team

RULE 6

Every team will play a minimum of 3 games in order to qualify for playoffs. (This may vary between divisions)


RULE 7

Playoffs will be played in a single elimination style.

RULE 8

Outfielders can play from wherever on the field, however they can not play from in front of the pitcher. They must remain behind the pitcher until the ball is kicked.

RULE 9

Pegging is allowed but please be careful and mindful. Head shots are an automatic safe and runners gains an extra base.

RULE 10

Mercy rule is enforced if a team scores 8+ runs in one inning. Teams will switch sides if this happens.

RULE 11

When at the plate, 4 foul balls and you’re out. No strikes or balls.


RULE 12

Any ball caught by a fielder is an out.

RULE 13

Force outs apply for every base.

RULE 14

All kickers have the right to refuse any pitch that is too fast or bouncy.

RULE 15

Any ball kicked out of the area of play is an automatic home run.

RULE 16

When playing in the field, you are allowed to choose what you want to do with your 8th player. (This means you are required to have a pitcher, three basemen, three outfielders, and the last player can go wherever such as catcher, shortstop, outfielder or can even be a substitute).

RULE 17

Tagging up is required. (to tag up is for a baserunner to retouch or remain on their starting base (the time-of-pitch base) until (after) the ball either lands in fair territory or is first touched by a fielder. By rule, baserunners must tag up when a fly ball is caught in flight by a fielder.)

RULE 18

Runners are only allowed to advance one base if the ball is THROWN (not kicked) out of play. (Over the fence or beyond the marked area)

RULE 19

Referees reserve the right to eject/disqualify any player who displays unsportsmanlike conduct (i.e. excessive taunting/insults/vulgar language/arguing extensively with the referees)

RULE 20

In the event of a tie, the referee will present a coin toss, the most recent team to score a run will call the toss. They will either choose to kick or defend. The kicking team will get an automatic man (can be chosen by the team) on second and then are allowed two kicks to get him home. The defending team has to prevent them from scoring with the man on second. If they score, the kicking team wins, if they don’t, the defending team wins.
